3.2 Logic-level output

A logic level output is an output that can only weakly drive to ground (0V) or a logic high voltage (typically 5V or 3.3V). A logic-level output is usually directly connected to the processor of an embedded controller.

Applications:

• control another device that expects logic-level input
• drive an LED with a current limiting resistor
• drive lines of a keypad
